Introduction

Twenty One Years! Time flies when you’re having fun! It is hard to think twenty one years have passed since we loaded up our rebuilt Land Cruisers and headed out for our very first safari with Ed Samuelli and Lloyd Bullock. Not a year has passed since then where we haven’t learnt, improved, added new areas and best of all made new friends!

Expanding we are now able to offer safaris in the best of Africa’s hunting destinations, South Africa, Botswana, CAR, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The ever changing hunting and economic environment has certainly taught us to change and adapt, yet at the same time never to compromise on quality. To this day we pride ourselves in our motto of providing “Classic African Safaris Without Compromise!” This is proven by the fact that over 80% of all our safaris are return bookings. Many of you have become close friends and although for most of the year we are thousands of miles apart, it is the blessing of these friendships and the magical call of Africa that cements our bond to the brotherhood of hunters that too few are privileged to be part of.

Reminiscing back to our very fist few years a special thank you goes to those who supported us during this time – people such as Gary Reeder, Mike McFarland, Jim Boyd, Bob and Donna Mann, Rocky and Dian Cooper, the late Ed Samuelli and Lloyd Bullock and to the countless others after that. All have played a monumental role in building Madubula Safaris into one of Africa’s premier Safari Outfitters.

Our conservation minded outlook and partnership with Game Departments and land owners such as DeBeers have allowed us access to some of the finest hunting areas in Africa which in turn have produced some of the Worlds best trophies. A highlight of our company was certainly the awarding of the prestigious SCI International Professional Hunter of the Year to John Abraham. Also Madubula Safaris is the only South African Outfitter to have three of it’s Professional Hunters receive the PHASA “Uncle Stevie” Professional Hunter of the year award, no less than five times!

Each season seems to get better, the quality of the trophies speak for themselves, 2011 was no different and has seen some exceptional trophies being hunted. Amongst others the pending SCI #1 Black

Wildebeest taken by young Lane Janecka, a huge 48” Buffalo taken by Larry Atkinson, a 33 ½” Rhino bull taken by the Csanyi’s guided by Luke Blackbeard. A SCI Top Five

Each season seems to get better, the quality of the trophies speak for themselves, 2011 was no different and has seen some exceptional trophies being hunted. Amongst others the pending SCI #1 Black Wildebeest taken by young Lane Janecka, a huge 48” Buffalo taken by Larry Atkinson, a 33 ½” Rhino bull taken by the Csanyi’s guided by Luke Blackbeard. A SCI Top Five free range Lion taken after ten hard days by Kent Greenawalt, Dr Carlos Ramirez completed his Big Five with a magnificent Elephant; a Buffalo scoring 138 SCI points and a 209 pound Leopard ranking number eight! All in all another resounding season.

Our hunting fraternity is coming under increasing pressure. We as hunters have to make a concerted effort to do it ethically, sustainably, conserve our wildlife and educate our youth. Our sincere gratitude goes out to each and everyone of you that have hunted with us, supported our conservation projects – financially and physically and most of all for your loyal friendship. We will continue to do our utmost to provide each of our clients with World Class Safaris, at the same time promoting and conserving our limited Wildlife resources.

We look forward to our next campfire and wish each and every one of you the very best.

Soli deo Gloria
