Firearms require a temporary import permit, should you attempt to go through this process yourself, please budget at least 4 hours upon your arrival to do so. Our suggestion is to use our ‘Meet and Greet’ service, which will expedite this process. We do suggest the use of charter flights to camps, which ensures a speedy and trouble free arrival into the hunting area.

Hunting licence and permits:

Licence fees are payable in advance for any of the big five. Certain species require a special licence and/or permit, in particular CITIES permits. We will assist you in obtaining these, once your safari is booked. Without these permits your tropies will not be allowed to be exported. Licence fees, where required, are payable sixty days prior to the commencement of your safari and are not transferable.

Different regulations govern each country with regards to wing shooting and licence fees are payable for bird shooting in the various areas. We will advise you on the specific requirements for each area as necessary. All countries in Africa have stringent firearms legislation. No semiautomatic weapons or handguns for self defence are allowed into any of the countries. We will advise and assist you through the custom’s formalities applicable to the country in which you will be hunting.
