Dear friends,
Our year is moving along at a steady pace and going really well.
Jason and Jennifer Moliter from the Ox Ranch in Texas had a great hunt in the Eastern Cape mountains and also brought much joy to needy farm children and their little school. Hunters do care and we appreciate your kind donation.
Randy Shapiro joined us again on a fun trip where his son, Blake Shapiro and friends Chase Cannon and Dusty Powell joined him for their first African trip. It was a memorable trip with lots of laughs and the guys taking some great trophies. Randy did some selective hunting and was able to hunt four fantastic SCI Top Ten trophies with his muzzleloader of which three are pending number ones. Randy has become a great friend and we appreciate all his support.
Since early January we have been sending out little notes and requests to help our military friends through the Black Dagger Military Hunt Club Inc. and Wounded Warrior Outdoors. In July we hosted two very honorable men who’re presence and demeanor will humble the roughest of souls. They had a fantastic trip taking some great trophies and really appreciated getting a break from everyday normal life. We just want to thank each and every person that was prepared to make a contribution and make this trip a reality.
College friends of Kye and Talon used their summer break to spend time in Africa. Apart from fishing and having a blast, time was made to do a little hunting. We stayed in a great tented camp with lions and hyenas serenading every evening. Mitchell Black along with Kye and Talon had some great hunting while the girls backed them up with cameras.
Chris Bakken III and IV traveled to Namibia for their second Safari with us. We looked at a lot of elephant bulls but the Big old guy eluded us and dates are set for a return in 2020. The last few days were spent hunting plains game and a great selection of animals filled their bag. Chris Sr. managed to collect a monster sable bull.
Ross Atkinson returned to Zambia with his Mom and Dad and hunted our newly acquired area bordering the Kafue National Park. Ross hunted a monster sable along with oribi and other species specific to that region. This young man is a dedicated hunter that is prepared to do whatever it takes to succeed! We enjoy watching him grow as a successful hunter and look forward to his return.
Eduardo Negrette along with his family spent time in Zululand and the Eastern Cape. Eduardo and his son, ‘Capitano’, did the hunting while the girls did side trips to our beautiful game reserves and enjoying what South Africa has to offer. We hunted hard for the shy suni in the Zululand forest and climbed mountains for the fleet-footed Vaal rhebuck in the high Eastern Cape mountains and ended our stay on the coastline taking quick shots at blue duiker.
The fun-loving Martinez family along with Memo Alvarez and his son, ‘Partner’, hunted two different areas in the Northern Cape and had a fantastic trip. Everyday was an adventure and always filled with laughter and fun. It was one of those trips that will be remembered for a long time and we appreciate the new found friendships anchored on our African soil.
There are more hunts to come and we will keep you updated on how they turn out.
Thank you to everybody that helped make our season a great success and for all the trust and new friendships!
Safe hunting
